Middleton City Shutdown: A Section of Century Avenue Remains Blocked Till Wednesday
The City of Middleton has announced a water main break on Century Avenue, located between Tomahawk Trail and Baskerville Avenue. According to Brent McHenry, the Communications Manager for the City of Middleton, the cause of the break is a combination of older infrastructure and corrosive soils weakening the pipes.
To ensure the safety and efficiency of the repairs, Century Avenue will be closed until Wednesday. During this time, traffic will be redirected from the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes. One lane will remain open in each direction to keep traffic moving and minimize disruption.
Brent McHenry stated that the city's priority is to reopen the roadway safely and quickly. The city appreciates the community's patience and cooperation during the repairs.
The closure is timed to minimize disruption to back-to-school traffic next week. The city is working diligently to complete the repairs and asphalt work as soon as possible.
For updates on the progress of the repairs and any changes to traffic patterns, residents are encouraged to visit the City of Middleton's website or contact the city's communications department.
