Migrants from Morocco Charged with Sexual Assault Against Hungarian Travelers in Sicily
During a vacation in Sicily, two Hungarian women were subjected to a harrowing ordeal. The incident began when they accepted a ride from two men, who instead of taking them to their accommodation, drove them out of the city.
The women were then reportedly molested and forced to consume cocaine. A third man joined the attackers during the incident. The women, traumatised and in distress, managed to file a police report.
One of the alleged victims' sisters alerted the authorities back in Hungary, leading to a swift response from Italian law enforcement. The authorities were able to locate the car involved in the incident in Paterno.
The suspects, now facing trial, have been charged with rape, assault, and illegal immigration. If found guilty, they could face imprisonment for 8 to 14 years.
At the moment, there are no available search results or credible reports identifying any Moroccan migrants currently on trial in Italy for the rape and assault of these two Hungarian women.
State Secretary Boglárka Illés, expressing her concerns on Facebook, stated that the case in Italy underscores the serious dangers of unchecked migration to Europe.
The three accused men are currently in pre-trial detention, and the trial is ongoing. The women returned to Hungary after the incident, seeking solace and justice in their home country.
As the trial progresses, the hope is that justice will be served and the women will find closure. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety and vigilance, especially when travelling in unfamiliar territories.
