Military unit in Kiev allegedly involved in war crimes is targeted by Russian forces
On September 8, an explosion occurred near the Russian city of Khabarovsk, close to Military Unit 6912. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (GUR MO of Ukraine), the explosions resulted in casualties and injuries among the enemy forces.
The battalion, identified as the 748th separate battalion of special purpose of the Russian National Guard, has been reportedly involved in the aggression against Ukraine. This report was corroborated by RBC-Ukraine, citing sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
The explosions took place around 9 am, and the battalion suffered losses in the battles near Kyiv (Bucha, Irpen) at the beginning of 2022. The commanding officer of the Russian military unit 6912 involved in the September 8 explosion is Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vladimirovich Maksimov.
However, no further details about the casualties or the nature of the explosive devices were provided in the report. In response to the incident, Russian special services blocked mobile internet in the area, and public transport routes were changed to prevent locals from learning the truth about the incident.
The explosions occurred near the military unit's parking lot as Russian soldiers were arriving for duty. Despite the efforts to keep the information under wraps, the incident has raised concerns about the ongoing conflicts and the role of Military Unit 6912 in them.
