Introducing the MING Uni Diver: A Unique Take on a Classic Design

MING, the Malaysian microbrand known for its unique design language and innovation, has unveiled a new addition to its collection - the MING Uni Diver. This watch, inspired by sea urchins, is a limited edition of 150 pieces, priced at CHF 5,250 (approximately $5,790).

The Uni Diver retains the famed crown and bezel system of MING's Bluefin model, along with a water resistance of 600m. However, it introduces a design change that sets it apart - the dial, not the bezel, rotates. This rotating dial, paired with a 60-minute scale, offers improved legibility.

The dial of the Uni Diver is made of black-coated metalized sapphire, with a cog-like iteration of indices that add to its unique aesthetic. These indices, along with the minute track, are lumed, including the orange color on the minute track for the first 20 minutes. The dial, crowns, and strap are all matte black, giving the watch a sleek and stylish appearance.

One of the standout features of the Uni Diver is the Super-LumiNova X that MING has placed into etched cavities in the sapphire crystal. This ensures that the watch face remains easily readable, even in low light conditions.

Powering the Uni Diver is an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW300, providing a 50-hour power reserve. The watch has a 38mm diameter, 44.5mm lug-to-lug, and 12.8mm thickness, making it a versatile addition to any collection.

The Uni Diver is available on MING's website for more information. With its unique design, exceptional craftsmanship, and limited availability, this watch is sure to be a sought-after piece in the world of horology.

Established in 2017, MING continues to push the boundaries of watch design, combining functionality with artistry to create timepieces that are both beautiful and practical. The Uni Diver is a testament to this commitment, offering a fresh take on the classic dive watch design.
