MLB Debut Spurs Savannah Bananas Pitcher to Share Personal Journey

In the vibrant world of baseball, a rising star named Hayden Harris has made quite an impact, both on and off the field. His journey began with the Savannah Bananas, a unique team known for their exciting promotions and unconventional rules.

Last season, Harris was part of the Bananas' championship-winning team. The playoffs were a thrilling time for him, as he relished the opportunity to pitch under the pressure. Interestingly, Harris played in the final game of the Bananas' season to secure a spot for the playoffs.

During the championship celebrations, Harris took some cool photos with his teammates, but unfortunately, his jersey didn't bear his face, as he had arrived too late for the personalised touch. Instead, it proudly displayed the Bananas logo and his number.

The Savannah Bananas, in a first for summer ball, held an NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) night, where they auctioned off the jerseys, with the players receiving the proceeds. Harris's jersey from the last game of the season fetched approximately $600.

Before embarking on his Major League Baseball (MLB) career, Harris entertained fans with the Savannah Bananas. His standout performance included holding the Chicago Cubs scoreless for one inning in a 4-3 defeat.

Recently, Harris made his MLB debut with the Atlanta Braves, marking a significant milestone in his career. His time with the Bananas undoubtedly played a role in honing his skills and preparing him for the big leagues.

While Harris enjoyed his time with the Bananas, he admits he wasn't much of a dancer during the team's lively games. Nevertheless, his pitching prowess and charismatic personality have made him a fan favourite, both in Savannah and now in Atlanta.
