Mobile Speed Surveillance Sites Identified

In a bid to ensure traffic safety and promote responsible driving, speed checks will be conducted across several locations in Bergisch Gladbach and its surrounding areas starting from September 5, 2025.

The new administrative guidelines for § 48 Abs. 2 of the Ordnungsbehördengesetz (OBG), enacted by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government NRW on July 15, 2013, emphasize the importance of transparency, publication, and more controls in bringing about positive behavioral changes.

From Monday, September 8, speed checks will be conducted at Reuterstraße, Brüderstraße, and Jägерstraße. On the same day, mobile speed checks will also be carried out on Mülheimer Straße (in the vicinity of Kradepohlsmühle, Duckterath), where a 30 km/h zone is being monitored. The city of Bergisch Gladbach uses its city's internet pages as a suitable medium for announcing and publishing these speed monitoring measurement points, in accordance with the guidelines.

On Tuesday, September 9, speed checks will be conducted at Paffrather Straße, Kaule, and Dolmanstraße. The exact measurement times for these speed monitoring measures are not required to be published, according to the new regulation.

On Wednesday, September 10, speed checks will be conducted at Dellbrücker Straße, Reiser, and Mülheimer Straße. The police authority carries out its own controls; information on these can be found on the police's internet pages.

On Thursday, September 11, speed checks will be conducted at Asselborner Weg, Kardinal-Schulte-Straße, and Katterbachstraße. On Friday, September 12, speed checks will be conducted at Ball and Rheinhöhenweg, and Odenthaler Straße. Deviations from the planned schedule may occur due to unforeseeable traffic situations.

On Saturday, September 6, speed checks will be conducted at Duckterather Weg and Voiswinkel Straße, and on Saturday, September 13, speed checks will be conducted at Kippekausen and Borngasse.

Scientific studies show that the announcement and publication of speed monitoring measurement points are crucial for positive behavioral changes. The city of Bergisch Gladbach publishes the planned measurement points of the speed monitoring carried out by the municipality on a weekly basis on its internet pages.

These measures are part of a broader effort to promote traffic safety and encourage responsible driving habits among residents and visitors in the area. It is hoped that these initiatives will lead to a safer and more enjoyable environment for all.
