Montreal Alouettes Prepare for Showdown Against Hamilton Tiger-Cats

The Montreal Alouettes (5-6) are set to face off against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-5) at Percival Molson Stadium on Saturday, September 6. The highly anticipated game will kick off at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

With franchise quarterback Davis Alexander sidelined due to an ankle injury, backup quarterback Trevor Harris will take the helm for the Alouettes. Harris will be supported by the return of wide receiver Austin Mack, who has been out for the last four games due to an ankle problem. Mack has caught 21 passes for 296 yards this season.

The Alouettes will also benefit from the return of defensive lineman Mustafa Johnson, who has previously recorded 96 defensive tackles, 15 sacks, and one touchdown over 41 career regular-season CFL games. Johnson, who was an All-East Division selection in 2023, will bolster the team's defence.

Tyson Philpot, who was named the Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian in 2023, will also return to the lineup after missing the team's last six games due to a hamstring injury. Philpot has caught 24 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns this season.

The Tiger-Cats, who lost a heartbreaker on the weekend, will be looking to bounce back. The weather forecast in Montreal calls for a high of 20 degrees with cloudy conditions and a 40 percent chance of showers.

The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, CFL+ internationally, Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton, and TSN 690 in Montreal. The Alouettes have placed running back Stevie Scott III and receiver Alexander Hollins on the one-game injured list.

Hakeem Harris, Kaseem Ferdinand, Riley MacLeod, and Don Callis have been moved to the practice roster. James Morgan, who threw for 198 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in his previous game, will start as the quarterback for the Alouettes in the upcoming game.

As both teams prepare for this crucial match-up, fans can expect a thrilling display of skill and determination on the field.
