More than two-thirds of private education students gain admission to prestigious global universities, according to a report by the Romania Education Alliance

Romania Education Alliance (REA), a national platform for top private schools, has made a significant impact on the Romanian education system. Founded in 2024, the alliance, led by education entrepreneurs Anca and Dan Macovei Vlașceanu, in partnership with Morphosis Capital, aims to transform private education into a system competitive both nationally and internationally.

The alliance's efforts have yielded impressive results. According to a study conducted by REA, more than 65% of 12th grade graduates from private schools with a dual curriculum in Romania (Class of 2024-2025) have been admitted to prestigious international universities in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The Netherlands and the United States are the most popular academic destinations for Romanian graduates. The Netherlands ranks second, with 45% of all international offers received, due to well-structured, practice-oriented programs offered in English, competitive tuition fees, and openness to international students. The United States ranks third, accounting for 12% of international offers, due to the dynamism of programs, access to research resources, and international alumni networks.

The United Kingdom and Ireland remain key academic destinations for Romanian graduates, despite Brexit-related barriers. In 2025, students were admitted to institutions such as University of Westminster - School of Architecture & Cities, London, University of Northampton, and University of Galway, Ireland.

REA acts as a catalyst for growth, offering members access to development funding, operational know-how, state-of-the-art educational resources, international best practices, and continuous professional training for teachers. The alliance seeks partnerships with successful private schools eager to benefit from these resources to align with international educational standards.

In 2025, graduates were admitted to Bocconi University Milan (Economics/Finance - ranked top 5 in Europe) and Carlos III University Madrid (Business Management - a European leader in the field) in Italy and Spain, respectively. Switzerland's Cesar Ritz College offered admission to graduates in 2025, ranked top 5 worldwide in tourism and hospitality.

The Romania Education Alliance (REA) is a national educational platform for top private schools, with an investment plan of over €20 million in the coming years. The alliance aims to expand its presence in cities such as Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, Brașov, Sibiu, and Constanța between 2025 and 2028.

While the Netherlands is a popular choice for Romanian students, no search results indicate that a university in the Netherlands made an offer in 2025 to a student from a private school in Romania with a dual curriculum. The available information only relates to German institutions and dual study programs there. However, the chosen fields in the Netherlands align with global labor market trends and include electrical and chemical engineering, psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, applied computer science, and international business.

Graduates admitted to top Dutch universities such as Eindhoven University of Technology, University of Groningen, Tilburg University, Delft University of Technology, Vrije University Amsterdam, and Hague University of Applied Sciences. The other 35% of graduates chose to continue their studies at leading higher education institutions in Romania.

The success of Romania Education Alliance (REA) demonstrates the quality of education provided by private schools in Romania, preparing students for success at the highest level globally.
