Moscow's top military commander declares initiative for herbal endeavor in Ukraine
In the eastern regions of Ukraine, the three-and-a-half-year-old conflict initiated by Russia shows no signs of abating. The ongoing war has been marked by a series of stalling tactics and destructive actions, according to European observers.
Russian forces, led by Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov, have made significant territorial gains, controlling around 99.7% of Luhansk, 79% of Donetsk, 76% of Kherson, and 74% of Zaporizhzhia. However, their advance has been halted in the regions of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk, with Ukrainian forces achieving successes on the front, as reported by military spokesman Viktor Trehubov.
In a recent development, Gerasimov announced an autumn offensive in Ukraine, threatening to capture the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejects as crucial defensive strongholds.
The European Union views Russia's tactics in the conflict as stalling and aggressive, accusing Moscow of using negotiations and new deadlines as stalling tactics, allowing time for new attacks. This pattern of stalling tactics followed by aggressive actions has become characteristic of the conflict.
Russia has been accused of prolonging the conflict by making unfulfillable demands, such as the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from areas like Donetsk, to achieve a ceasefire. The search results do not provide the name of the Russian diplomat making these accusations.
Despite the stalemate, continuous attacks are currently underway along the entire front line of the invasion. Gerasimov confirmed that these attacks are ongoing, suggesting that the Russian invasion will reportedly continue with new objectives.
The destructive war in Ukraine, initiated by Russia, has been ongoing for over three and a half years, and its impact on the region and its people continues to be profound. The conflict is seen by Europeans as a prolonged and destructive war that has caused immense suffering and displacement.
As the conflict continues, the international community remains hopeful for a peaceful resolution and an end to the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
