Most Notable Corruption Hotspots in Kazakhstan Revealed

A new study conducted by the public foundation "Transparency Kazakhstan" has identified five regions in the country as the most corrupt. The study, which involved around 200 experts, 173 field sociologists, and 12 analysts, was based on a survey of 9,000 people and an analysis of 1,500 complaints on the "Open Dialogue" portal.

According to the study, the top regions for bribery in Kazakhstan are Jambyl, Almaty, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, and Atyrau. Olga Shiyan, executive director of the "Transparency Kazakhstan" public foundation, stated that respondents in these identified corrupt regions reported having to negotiate more often.

The survey and analysis were focused on identifying the regions with the highest levels of corruption in Kazakhstan. The study found that in 2020, 11.3% of respondents found themselves in a corrupt situation across the identified regions.

Hospitals, police, land management, Public Service Centers, and state kindergartens were the main government institutions where the public was involved in corrupt situations in these regions. The results of the study were reported by Almaty.tv.

It is important to note that the search results do not provide any information about the names of persons involved in the investigation of "Transparency Kazakhstan" apart from Olga Shiyan. The study involved a total of around 225 people.

The study conducted by "Transparency Kazakhstan" serves as a call to action for the government and the public to address the issue of corruption in these regions. The foundation hopes that the findings will lead to increased transparency and accountability in these areas, ultimately improving the lives of the people living there.
