Mother of a missing 19-year-old girl from Prince George's County begs for her return home

In the heart of Langley Park, community members have been tirelessly canvassing the area since the disappearance of 19-year-old Dacara Thompson. Friends, family, neighbours, and even strangers have joined forces in the hope of finding any leads that might bring Dacara home.

The vigil for Dacara was held at 1820 University Boulevard, a location significant as it is up the block from where Dacara's car was found. Her vehicle, parked in front of a fire hydrant at Jasmine Terrace and Riggs Road, still contained her wallet and house keys. Her parents believe she had her phone and car keys with her when she disappeared.

Dacara's dreams were set on joining the Air Force, a testament to her ambition and determination. Unfortunately, since her disappearance on Aug. 22, there has been no activity detected on her bank account, phone, or social media. This lack of activity has led Dacara's mother, Carmen, to suspect that her daughter may have been abducted.

Carmen, along with other family members, has been actively involved in the search efforts. She expressed her longing for her daughter's return during a vigil held on Aug. 29. The Prince George's County Police Department, recognising the urgency of the situation, has initiated an active investigation into Dacara's disappearance and has even issued a wanted notice for the kidnapping of the young woman.

The Thompson family has provided a link for those who wish to support their search efforts. As the community continues to rally around the family, hopes remain high that Dacara will be found safe and returned home soon. The Police Department urges anyone with information regarding Dacara's whereabouts to come forward.
