Motorcyclist meets a fatal end

Yesterday evening, a tragic traffic accident occurred on Kopenick Street in Kreuzberg, resulting in the death of a 64-year-old motorcyclist.

The accident took place on Saturday afternoon at around 16:30. According to reports, a 63-year-old woman driving a car attempted to turn right into a property, which led to a collision with the motorcyclist. The woman was traveling on Kopenick Street towards Schlesisches Tor.

In an attempt to avoid the collision, the motorcyclist swerved left, but unfortunately, collided with the car instead. After the initial impact, the motorcyclist fell, slid onto the opposite lane, and collided with another car driven by a 54-year-old man.

The woman and the two drivers involved in the accident were uninjured, but the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Despite the medical team's best efforts, the motorcyclist passed away later in the evening.

The investigation into the traffic accident is being led by a specialized commission for traffic offenses of the Police Directorate 5 (City). Initially, the motorcyclist was reported as a man, but it has since been confirmed that the victim was a woman.

The further investigation into the traffic violation caused by the accident is being conducted by Police Directorate 5, but the specific lead officer or investigator is not publicly named in the available sources. The investigation is ongoing.

The woman was using the bike lane on the right side of the road to overtake other vehicles at the time of the accident. The traffic investigation unit of Police Directorate 1 (North) has taken over the further investigation.
