Motorway emergency road construction inspections by police in PinnebergHalstenbekBAB 23 - Breaches by motorcyclists uncovered and penalized

The Police Directorate Bad Segeberg, located on the A23 motorway between Pinneberg-Nord and Halstenbek/Krupunder, has announced a hefty fine for a motorcyclist who intentionally used the emergency lane on the north carriageway of the A23.

Last week, officers from the Elmshorn Police Highway and District Station detected nine motorcycles using the emergency lane to move faster on the northbound carriageway of the A23 motorway. One of these motorcyclists, a man, was fined 480 euros for intentional violation of the emergency lane rule.

This rule is in place to ensure that emergency vehicles such as fire engines and ambulances can reach their destinations quickly in case of an emergency. When traffic is at a crawl or standstill, an emergency lane must be formed and kept clear on the A23 motorway.

The man, who has not been publicly disclosed, was also given a one-month driving ban and had two points added to his driving license.

The Police Directorate Bad Segeberg conducts continuous traffic checks to monitor compliance with traffic rules. They use varying focuses and different means of enforcement for these checks.

It's important to note that these regulations apply to all road users, including motorcycle riders. Drivers on the left lane should move to the left, and all other drivers should move to the right when forming the emergency lane.

Heavy traffic and congestion are frequent on the A23 motorway's southern area, making it crucial for all drivers to adhere to the traffic rules.
