Frank Caprio, Rhode Island's Nicest Judge, Honoured in a Heartfelt Funeral

Frank Caprio, the beloved television judge known for his kindness and compassion, was laid to rest in Providence, Rhode Island on August 20. Caprio passed away at the age of 88 due to pancreatic cancer.

Caprio's courtroom was a beacon of positivity, where people and cases were met with understanding and empathy. This approach extended beyond the courtroom, as Caprio was known for dismissing tickets or showing kindness even when handing out justice.

The funeral service was presided over by the Archbishop of Boston at the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul in Providence. People from all over the world lined up to pay tribute to Caprio during memorial services at his home. His son mentioned that supporters of his father were traveling from as far as the Philippines to attend his services.

Caprio's family was proud of him for working hard to achieve success. His biography, titled "Compassion in Court: Life-Changing Stories from America's Nicest Judge," chronicles his career and the impact he had on countless lives.

Caprio's kindness and compassion extended to people from all walks of life. At his funeral, there was an outpouring of love and support that reflected the global impact he had. Caprio's cousin, Carol Caprio Stravato, grew up on the same street as him in tenement buildings that their fathers bought.

Father Bob Marciano, a longtime friend of Caprio's, stated that Caprio became a sensation online because he was so real. In a 2017 interview, Father Marciano compared Caprio to the gospel message of "The last shall be first, and the first shall be last."

Caprio's father was a milk deliveryman and a fruit peddler, and he learned compassion from his father's treatment of customers who struggled to pay. Caprio aimed to dispel distrust and feelings of lack of understanding, compassion, and kindness from the institutions of government. He believed that his courtroom may be the only interaction many people have with the justice system, and he wanted it to be a positive one.

The funeral service was livestreamed on Judge Caprio's social media pages, allowing people from around the world to pay their respects. Caprio's family received thousands of requests from people around the world to pray with them at his service. Despite the sadness of his passing, Caprio's legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire and touch lives for years to come.
