Fire Disaster on Pan-Borneo Expressway: Toyota Vellfire Completely Destroyed

In a harrowing incident on the Pan-Borneo Expressway, a Toyota Vellfire was engulfed in flames, causing severe damage and the complete destruction of the vehicle. The incident occurred while the driver, Wan Hassan, was travelling from Kuantan, Pahang, to Dungun, Terengganu.

The ordeal began at around 12.15pm when the "check engine" light appeared on Wan Hassan's dashboard. Shortly after, a motorist alerted him to smoke coming from beneath the engine of his vehicle. Wan Hassan immediately contacted the PLUS patrol for assistance, and an emergency call was received at 12.47pm.

As the situation escalated, the engine of the Toyota Vellfire soon caught fire. The flames spread quickly, causing significant damage. Despite the rapid spread of the fire, Wan Hassan and his party managed to evacuate the vehicle, taking only their important belongings.

The fire was extinguished by 10 firefighters from the Kerteh fire station, who responded to the emergency call. The firefighters were from Terengganu fire and rescue Zone 2, led by Chief Rohaya Jamil.

Though the incident caused extensive property damage, no fatal injuries were reported. However, no further details about the condition of Wan Hassan or his party were provided in the initial report.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the losses resulting from the incident are yet to be fully assessed. The location of the incident remains unspecified.
