Multi-vehicle collision causes significant traffic congestion on Penang's roadways in Batu Uban, leading to a prolonged standstill for approximately an hour, resulting in minor injuries.

In an incident reported by Sinar Harian Online this afternoon, a collision involving a lorry and three cars occurred on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway near Kampung Batu Uban in Penang.

Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters from the Jalan Perak station found the lorry driver with minor injuries. The 40-year-old driver of the Isuzu lorry had received initial treatment from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit before the arrival of firefighters. The other three drivers - a 24-year-old in a Nissan Serena, a 56-year-old in a Perodua Alza, and a 65-year-old in a Proton Persona - were uninjured.

The public helped the victims out of their vehicles before the arrival of rescue teams. Firefighters cleared the crash debris off the road, and the operation ended at 2.24pm, resulting in an hour-long traffic congestion in Penang's Bayan Lepas industrial area.

The head of the fire command, A. Aziz Md. Nor, was deployed to prevent the accident. After assessing the situation, the firefighters passed on the case to the police for further investigation.

John Sagun Francis, Assistant Director of Operations at the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, provided a statement about the incident, but no new details about the statement were provided. The incident was not reported to have caused any additional injuries or fatalities beyond what was previously mentioned.

All four drivers involved in the collision survived, making it a miraculous escape for those involved. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident, and more updates will be provided as they become available.
