Multiplayer expansion for Tempest Rising, the successor to Command & Conquer, arrives next week, complete with 3v3 matches and the introduction of active pause to singleplayer gameplay.

Tempest Rising, the strategy game that was released earlier this year, is set to receive an exciting update next week on September 9. This update will introduce a variety of new features, including a new multiplayer map set in the historic city of Kyoto, available in both four and six player variants.

For those finding the singleplayer campaign of Tempest Rising challenging, the update will include an active pause feature and a game speed adjustment tool to help players keep up. However, it's worth noting that the name of the third faction that will be playable for the first time in the game remains unspecified, and there's still no word on its expected release date.

The update will also introduce 3v3 multiplayer matches, supporting both multiplayer and single-player skirmish. In addition, a "full" spectator mode and a 'no bot' sandbox mode will be added to Skirmish mode, offering a more immersive multiplayer experience.

While adjustable singleplayer speed is not the most requested feature, larger-scale multiplayer matches have been eagerly anticipated by the community. The update will also see two existing multiplayer maps being adjusted to accommodate 3v3 battles.

In terms of peripherals, the Logitech G305 Lightspeed has been hailed as the best budget wireless mouse, while the Glorious Model O Eternal takes the crown for the best budget wired mouse. For those seeking a lightweight option, the Turtle Beach Burst II Air is the recommended choice, and the Logitech G Pro is the best ambidextrous mouse. For MMO gamers, the Razer Naga Pro is the top pick. Meanwhile, the Logitech G502 X is considered the best wired mouse, and the Razer Cobra Pro is the best compact mouse.

Rick Lane, a seasoned games journalist with experience at Custom PC magazine, bit-tech.net, Edge, Eurogamer, the Guardian, and PC Gamer, has expressed particular excitement for the update, given his passion for first-person shooters and immersive sims.

Whether you're a seasoned Tempest Rising player or a newcomer to the game, next week's update promises to bring fresh challenges and exciting new features to the strategy game. Stay tuned for more updates!
