On the school route in Wenden, Germany, the Kreispolizeibehörde Olpe conducted a speed control on September 2, using the ESO measuring device. During the three-hour operation between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., a total of 54 speed violations were recorded.

One of the vehicles caught speeding was a Mercedes with a foreign license plate. The vehicle was initially measured driving 63 km/h in a 30 km/h zone, resulting in an excess speed of 30 km/h. However, the driver of the Mercedes can potentially avoid a higher fine and longer driving ban due to the measured result being only one kilometer per hour below a higher fine scale and a longer driving ban.

In a more severe case, the same Mercedes was measured again, driving 83 km/h, resulting in an excess speed of 50 km/h. This driver risks a fine of 400 euros, a one-month driving ban, and two points in the driving record.

The Kreispolizeibehörde Olpe can be contacted at Thorsten Scheen (Telephone: 02761 9269-2200, Email: [email protected], Website: https://olpe.polizei.nrw/). If you find yourself in a similar situation, it might be worth reaching out to them for more information.

It's essential to remember that speed limits are in place to ensure the safety of all road users, especially on school routes. The fine for excess speed of 30 km/h is 180 euros and one point in the driver's license register, while the fine for excess speed of 50 km/h is 400 euros, a one-month driving ban, and two points in "Flensburg".

Stay safe on the roads, and always respect the speed limits.
