Multiple vehicles sustained damage in incident involving a truck driver in Poland.

On September 3, 2025, a series of traffic accidents occurred in Grömitz, Lübeck, with a 33-year-old driver from Baden-Württemberg suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

The incident began around 22:15 on Königsberger Allee, where the driver's VW Touran collided with a parked VW Polo, pushing it onto a parked Audi. According to the police, the driver continued his reckless journey, damaging several other vehicles and causing a second accident.

During the third round, the driver collided head-on with an oncoming BMW on Wicheldorfstraße. Remarkably, the 39-year-old local from Ostholstein was able to continue driving due to the BMW's reinforced front.

Patrons of an establishment in Seestraße placed tables and chairs as barriers to stop the driver, but he drove through them. The VW Touran, no longer roadworthy, was towed away from the scene.

The police are investigating for suspected endangerment of traffic due to alcohol consumption and driving without a valid license. A voluntary breath test showed a preliminary result of 1.1 per thousand for the driver. The police officers ordered a blood test for further examination.

Anyone with information about other damaged vehicles is asked to contact the local police station at 04562-22000. The original content is from Polizeidirektion Lübeck, transmitted via news aktuell.

It is important to note that no injuries were reported in the accidents. The extent of the damage to the 33-year-old's VW could not be fully attributed to the accidents, as whether the damage was old or new could not be determined at the scene.

The driver from Baden-Württemberg was found not to have a valid driver's license. The police are still investigating the whereabouts of the suspected drunk driver, last known to reside in the vicinity of the Mannheim police station in Baden-Württemberg.

Press inquiries can be directed to Polizeidirektion Lübeck Press Officer, Anna Julia Meyer, at 0451-131-2015, 0451-131-2019, or [email protected].
