Munich's Federal Police Directorate under scrutiny for alleged involvement in illicit business dealings and organized smuggling activities

In a recent development, the Federal Police in Lindau-Reutin have apprehended four undocumented migrants and a suspected smuggler on August 4. The four migrants, aged between 21 and 40, hail from Jordan, Syria, and Palestine, while the suspected smuggler, identified as Hasnain S, is a 32-year-old Syrian.

The migrant group had arrived by train from Austria on the same day. Upon arrival, the Federal Police took the four migrants into custody, while Hasnain S was initially released. However, further investigation led to the swift coordination with the Munich Central Station Federal Police, resulting in the arrest of Hasnain S.

The four migrants claimed to have only met during their journey, which was facilitated by different smugglers. Hasnain S, on the other hand, had accompanied the group through Austria and had organized their ticket purchase for a fee.

Hasnain S was charged with commercial and gang-related smuggling of foreigners. The Federal Police discovered that each of the four migrants had paid several thousand euros for their smuggling from Jordan or Syria.

The Kempten Public Prosecutor's Office was consulted in the case. The Bundespolizeiinspektion Kempten, which protects 220 kilometers of the Schengen internal border with Austria, was responsible for the apprehension. The officers secured the two phones of Hasnain S before his release. Initially, both the migrants and Hasnain S denied knowing each other. However, further investigation is now targeting the suspected smuggling group.
