Municipality Announces Unveiling of Election Results in Upcoming Municipal Elections of 2025

On September 14, 2025, the city of Dormagen will hold its municipal election, and the city administration is promising a night of transparency and engagement.

The results of this significant event will shape the composition of the new city council and the election of the new mayor. Citizens can follow the latest results live at the Kulle, where the city administration will host a public presentation of the election results starting at 6 pm.

The city administration has made it easy for citizens to stay informed. In addition to the live event at the Kulle, the results can also be tracked online via the city administration's website (www.ourwebsite). For those unable to attend the event, the live stream of WDR will be integrated, providing updates from neighboring communities.

For the election of the Integration Council, 5% of the 14,908 eligible voters have applied for postal voting, with 746 applications received so far. This figure rises to 25.32% of the 50,584 eligible voters for the city council and mayor election, totaling 12,808 applications as of Monday, September 1.

Leading candidates and party representatives will have the opportunity for short interviews during the presentation. Immediate reactions from politics will also be available at the Kulle. The live results will be broadcast on a large screen, ensuring everyone in attendance can stay up-to-date.

The municipal election will not only decide the future of Dormagen's city council and mayor but also the results of the district council and county council elections.

In the race for mayor, Erik Lierenfeld (SPD) received the most votes with 48.60%, proceeding to a runoff on September 28 against Anissa Saysay (CDU), who received 28.87%. For the city council, the SPD remained the strongest party with 16 seats and 33.5% of the vote, followed by the CDU with 30.1% of the vote and other parties including AfD, Greens, FDP, Zentrum, Die Linke, UWG/FW, and Die PARTEI with smaller shares.
