Italian Rapper Disarstar Distances Himself from the Left Party

Gerrit Falius, better known by his stage name Disarstar, has made it clear that he maintains a distance from the Left Party, despite sharing some ideological similarities with the political group.

The rapper, who released his new album "Hamburger Aufstand" on Friday, identifies as a Marxist and advocates for democratic socialism, not social democratic capitalism. However, he finds it unserious to align himself with a party political wagon as an artist.

Disarstar's music often carries an antifascist message, with his song "Siamo Tutti" from the new album being described as an antifascist hymn. The track has been streamed over 6.7 million times on Spotify.

Despite his political leanings, Disarstar follows many left-wing politicians on Instagram, but he is critical of the voting results on the wealth tax of the Left Party. He finds some of the Left's Instagram posts great, but not convincing.

Heidi Reichinnek, the Left Party faction leader, is the exception as she does not follow Disarstar. Reichinnek only follows people who follow her first, and would follow Disarstar back within 30 seconds if he followed her. However, at the time of writing, Disarstar did not follow Reichinnek, sticking to a social media practice of mutual following.

Some left-wing politicians also follow Disarstar, and he returns the favour by following them back within 30 seconds if they follow him first.

Disarstar considers himself as non-partisan, and despite his distance from the Left Party, he finds some of their policies appealing. However, he prefers to focus on his music and using it as a platform to spread his political messages.

Despite the occasional criticism, Disarstar's music continues to resonate with a wide audience, and his new album is already making waves in the music industry.
