In the early hours of Wednesday morning, several small fires were reported in a wooded area in Niedermittlau, Hesse. An unclear smoke emission was noticed near the cemetery street, leading to the initial report at the emergency control center Main-Kinzig.

The fire department worked diligently to extinguish the fires, with the process taking approximately six hours until around 12 p.m. The damage to the vegetation is estimated to be around €500.

The fires occurred in Southeast Hesse, and the perpetrator of the arson has not been publicly identified as of yet. The criminal police have taken over the investigation, and witnesses are asked to call the hotline 06181 100-123 to provide any helpful information.
