Napoli has been presented with a €200 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain for both Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed an intriguing twist in the club's transfer market activities last summer, as Paris Saint-Germain offered more than €200m for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen. However, the Neapolitans managed to hold onto their star players, and now, they are set to kick-start their Scudetto defence away to Sassuolo this Saturday.

The Italian club has been active in the transfer market, strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. Napoli have signed Sam Beukema, Noa Lang, Miguel Gutierrez, Lorenzo Lucca, and the highly coveted Kevin De Bruyne. Despite the loss of top scorer Romelu Lukaku to injury, the team appears to be in good shape, with new additions ready to step up.

De Laurentiis made attempts to bolster his squad further, aiming to sign a striker, either Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad or Alexander Gyokeres from Sporting CP. However, the deals for both players did not materialize. Gyokeres, who scored an impressive 68 goals in two seasons in the Primeira Liga, eventually completed a move to Arsenal, leaving De Laurentiis with an unfulfilled promise to Victor Conte to keep Gyokeres at Napoli.

Meanwhile, Osimhen spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Turkish giants Galatasaray, before putting pen to paper on a permanent deal with the club for €75m according to reports. On the other hand, Kvaratskhelia ended up sealing a switch to PSG for a reported €70m fee in January.

De Laurentiis's attempt to sign Alexander Isak was also unsuccessful, with the Sweden international remaining at Real Sociedad. The Napoli president had to let Kvaratskhelia go because his agent was threatening to use Article 17. Despite these setbacks, Napoli have shown resilience and have been linked with Manchester United forwards Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund as they continue to search for the perfect addition to their squad.

As the new season approaches, Napoli fans can look forward to their team's Scudetto defence, with a squad that has been strengthened and ready to face the challenges ahead. The club's transfer activities have been a rollercoaster, but with De Bruyne, Beukema, Lang, Gutierrez, and Lucca on board, they are well-equipped to make a strong push for the title.
