National team of Luxembourg's Espoirs car meets with misfortune in Morbihan, leaving eight individuals hurt

On Thursday, September 4, 2025, a bus carrying the Luxembourg U21 football team was involved in a serious accident on the N24 in the direction of Lorient-Rennes, close to the commune of Languidic (Morbihan).

According to initial reports, the vehicle overturned and fell into a ditch. The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time.

Eight people were initially reported injured, but the total number of injured has now increased to at least 8. No fatalities have been reported so far.

The commune of Languidic has provided a hall to accommodate the other 25 passengers. Authorities are currently assessing the situation, and over 50 firefighters are at the scene.

The Interdepartmental Roads Directorate (DIR) has implemented traffic restrictions around the affected roads. A section of the N24 is closed at the Castello interchange in the direction of Lorient-Rennes.

Firefighters have activated the Novi plan (multiple victims) in response to the accident. Six ambulances, one fire engine, one command vehicle, one logistics vehicle, and one medical director have been deployed.

The gendarmerie and a local elected official are also present at the accident site. The accident site is still being assessed by authorities.

It is worth noting that the captain of the Luxembourg U21 football team involved in the accident is not explicitly named in the search results. However, Laurent Jans is the captain of the senior Luxembourg national team, which may indicate he is not the U21 captain.

Bison Futé, a French traffic information service, has confirmed the incident. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
