Nationwide credit usage of Sara Appreciation soars, with a total expenditure of RM117 million in just 4 days
The Sara Appreciation Credit, a digital voucher system implemented by the Ministry of Finance (MOF), has experienced a notable increase in usage on its fourth day of operation.
On September 4, over 1.8 million recipients nationwide used the RM100 Sara Appreciation Credit, a significant jump from the 1.1 million users on September 2. The total spending using the credit also saw a substantial rise, reaching RM117.1 million on September 4, compared to RM76.8 million on September 2.
The successful transaction rate of the Sara Appreciation Credit has also improved, surpassing 99.7%. This impressive figure is a testament to the efforts made to improve and expand the system's processing capacity over the past three days.
As of today, the total spending using the Sara Appreciation Credit has reached RM312.6 million nationwide. The system is managed by the MOF and is available at more than 7,300 registered retail outlets across the country, including various authorized local businesses participating in the government’s retail credit program.
The RM100 Sara Appreciation credit is valid until Dec 31, 2025, providing recipients with ample time to use the credit for purchasing basic necessities. The MOF has issued a statement regarding the smooth operation of the Sara Appreciation Credit system, assuring the public of its stability.
Since its implementation on Aug 31, more than 4.8 million people have purchased basic necessities using the Sara Appreciation and Sara credit. The system continues to be a valuable initiative in supporting the economy and helping individuals during these challenging times.
