The automotive industry is abuzz with anticipation as Chinese automaker Chery prepares to unveil its latest offering, the A01, at the end of this month's Beijing Auto Show. This SUV will mark a significant departure from the 2007 Shooting-Sport concept, as the front and back of the A01 are notably different.

The A01 is based on the Chery A3 and is expected to be a more luxurious version of the model. While it shares the roof and wheels with its predecessor, the design is a fresh departure, setting it apart from the 2007 Shooting-Sport concept.

Chery has a diverse range of engines, including 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, and a 2.0, which could potentially find their way into the A01. However, it's important to note that Chery might be working on a Shooting-sport roadcar, but it is not the A01.

The A01 is likely to be marketed under the Riich brand, which was repositioned as an independent brand in July 2025, specialising in new energy luxury vehicles.

In a notable shift, Chery exported more vehicles than they sold domestically in August 2025, indicating a growing global presence for the brand.

Meanwhile, another Chery model, the Jetour Zongheng G700 PHEV off-road SUV, has already started pre-sale. This vehicle boasts a wading depth of 970mm and a powerful 751hp, setting it apart in the off-road SUV market.

The A01 will join these offerings as Chery continues to expand its portfolio and challenge the status quo in the automotive industry. Stay tuned for more updates from the Beijing Auto Show!
