Dielectric Unveils Revolutionary RingMaster Antennas

Dielectric, a leading manufacturer in broadcast technology, has announced the release of its new line of ring-style antennas, called RingMaster. These innovative antennas were showcased at the company's June "Radiovana" event and previously previewed at the NAB Show.

The RingMaster antennas boast a design that simplifies vertical shaping, potentially removing the need for maintaining uniform radiating phases throughout a broadcast market. This design allows for the elimination of the need for full-wave spacing, providing a wider audio frequency response.

One of the key features of the RingMaster antennas is their ability to accommodate full FM bandwidth with wavelength spacing. Previously, full FM bandwidth was only achievable with half-wave spacing, which potentially doubled the number of bays required. However, the RingMaster design eliminates this tradeoff, incorporating characteristics of both full- and half-wavelength spaced arrays.

The build concept of the RingMaster antennas requires up to 33% fewer components, mainly through reduced radiating elements. This reduction in components results in a more economical and efficient solution for side-mount systems.

Many FM radio stations currently choose full-wave spacing to reduce weight, costs, and complexity. However, this decision often results in a much narrower audio frequency response. The RingMaster antennas offer a solution to this issue, providing a wider frequency response without compromising on weight or complexity.

Dielectric's new technology in RingMaster antennas eliminates the tradeoff between spacing and audio frequency response. This breakthrough in antenna design is an "industry-first" solution for FM master antennas, scheduled for release later this year.
