Customs Office Announces Recruitment for Dual Study Programs and Training

The Customs Office has announced the opening of applications for its dual study programs and training opportunities, starting September 1, 2025. Interested parties can apply until October 15, 2025.

The two-year training program for the middle service qualifies successful candidates for the professional title of "Tax Administrator". This training is available at the Main Customs Office Dortmund and the General Customs Directorate. For applications, visit www.zoll-karriere.de.

For the higher service study, the training lasts three years and concludes with either a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.; CUSTOMS) or a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.; Administrative Informatics). Both programs combine theory and practice, with alternating phases completed at various locations. These include the Federal Administration Academy in Münster and the training centers of the Federal Finance Administration’s Education and Science Center. Practical phases are spent in various departments of the training main customs office, nearby customs offices, and customs investigation offices.

IT trainees complete their practical phases in various IT departments of the General Customs Directorate and in digital forensics at the main customs offices or customs investigation offices. Upon completion of their studies or training, young customs officers can expect employment in various fields of the Customs Office. It is worth noting that more than 1700 young people will start studies or training at the Customs Office on September 1, 2025, with 39 of these young people starting at the Main Customs Office Dortmund.
