New Data Centre Launch by Raxio Group in Abidjan: A Pioneering Digital Achievement Shaping West Africa

Raxio Group, a leading data center provider, has announced the launch of its latest facility, Raxio Côte d'Ivoire (CIV1), in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. The new data center is strategically positioned to serve a diverse range of customers in Abidjan and the wider West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) region.

CIV1 is the first Tier III certified carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral facility in Ivory Coast, offering a secure, reliable, and high-performance environment for data storage and processing. The data center operates 24/7 and is positioned along key fiber routes, providing excellent domestic and international connectivity.

With a capacity to accommodate up to 800 racks at full capacity and delivering 3MW of IT power to customer equipment, CIV1 is well-equipped to handle large volumes of data and provide seamless connectivity. The data center's location in the Village of Innovation and Technology (VITIB), about 30km from Abidjan's city center, offers multiple power and fiber connection paths.

Six connectivity providers currently supply fiber to Raxio CIV1, ensuring robust and diverse connectivity options. These providers include MTN, Liquid Telecom, Tata Communications, SEACOM, WIOCC, and RAXIO. This multiplicity of connections enhances the data center's ability to offer low-cost interconnection of local and international traffic in an optimal, carrier-neutral environment.

As the regional hub for the WAEMU, CIV1 is strategically positioned to serve eight francophone countries. The presence of Raxio CIV1 in Ivory Coast is likely to attract more investments in the tech sector and accelerate digital adoption across the region.

Raxio CIV1's capacity to handle large volumes of data and provide seamless connectivity positions it as a key enabler of digital transformation in francophone West Africa. By providing a secure, reliable, and high-performance environment for data storage and processing, Raxio CIV1 is likely to support businesses and organizations increasingly relying on digital services in the region.

The launch of Raxio CIV1 comes at a time of unprecedented growth in digital transformation, data consumption, and connectivity demands across various sectors. The country's Internet Exchange Point (CIVIX) will be hosted at Raxio CIV1, further bolstering its role in supporting the region's digital economy and fostering technological innovation.

Raxio Group's CEO, Robert Mullins, stated that the Abidjan data center is strategically important for the company's expansion plans. He expressed optimism about the potential impact of Raxio CIV1 on the region, stating, "We believe that Raxio CIV1 will play a pivotal role in supporting the region's digital economy and fostering technological innovation."

The establishment of Raxio CIV1 in Abidjan is a significant step in enhancing the digital infrastructure of West Africa. As more businesses and organizations in the region embrace digital services, the demand for reliable and high-performance data centers like Raxio CIV1 is expected to grow.
