New Funding Initiative by Green Potential Commences
The Authority for Environment, Climate, Energy, and Agriculture (BUKEA) and the Hamburgische Investitions- und Foฬrderbank (IFB Hamburg) have joined forces to launch the Green Potential Screening, a funding program aimed at fostering sustainable growth in businesses of all sizes and industries within Hamburg.
This initiative, which is part of the PROFI Umwelt funding program, seeks to help companies identify CO2-saving opportunities and develop new green business models. The program aims to provide concrete action potential for sustainable products and processes, addressing the challenges many companies face in identifying these opportunities or developing such models on their own.
The most promising projects will be awarded up to 125,000 euros each, with a total of up to one million euros available for feasibility studies of innovative sustainable ideas in climate and environmental protection.
Jens Kerstan, Hamburg's Environment Senator, emphasised the importance of swift action and innovative ideas in climate protection. He stated that the Green Potential Screening aims to foster new approaches and innovations in this crucial area. Ralf Sommer, CEO of IFB Hamburg, added that the Green Potential Screening offers companies the opportunity to identify and optimally utilise their innovative potential in the field of climate and environmental protection.
Project outlines can be submitted to IFB Hamburg by February 28, 2025, with applications due by April 30, 2025. The first funding decisions are expected to be made in the second quarter of 2025.
IFB Hamburg is more than just a funding bank. It serves as a key resource for individuals and organisations seeking funding in Hamburg, providing advice and support for a wide range of projects, including housing, economic development, environmental protection, and innovation.
