New leadership appointed for the life-saving charity organization
Channel Islands Air Search Welcomes New Accountable Manager
After 31 years of dedicated service, John Fitzgerald is stepping back from his role as Accountable Manager at Channel Islands Air Search (CIAS). His tenure at the charity has been marked by a strong focus on safety, training, and teamwork, leaving a lasting legacy.
Nick Griffin, a calm and considerate member of the CIAS crew for the past five years, has been appointed as the new Accountable Manager. Griffin initially joined CIAS as a standard crew member and has since demonstrated determination and decisiveness in tough situations.
In his new role, Griffin will be responsible for overseeing the overall operational and safety oversight at CIAS. He will also be expected to have more dealings with CIAS's partner agencies and have greater oversight of operations at a macro level.
Griffin brings a background in client liaison and proven management skills to the position. He aims to ensure the friendly, professional team culture at CIAS continues, maintaining and building on the positive culture established by his predecessor, John Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald, who is being praised for his dedicated leadership, commitment to safety, training, and teamwork, is expected to be a worthy successor. The CIAS team believes Griffin is ideally suited for the Accountable Manager position, and they are confident that the service will continue to thrive under his leadership.
As the new Accountable Manager, Griffin has expressed his desire to maintain and build on the positive culture within the CIAS team. Channel Islands Air Search is excited to welcome him to his new role and looks forward to the continued success of the organisation under his leadership.
