Frankfurt's New City Gymnasiums Set to Transform Education Landscape

Frankfurt, Germany, is set to welcome two new City Gymnasiums as part of an ambitious expansion project. The schools, located in Bockenheim, are expected to revolutionise the city's educational landscape, focusing on digitization, cultural staging, and education for sustainable development.

Each school is designed as a six-year gymnasium and is expected to accommodate approximately 1,620 children and young people. With 30 students per class, the schools will house around 150 teachers and pedagogical staff.

The New Gymnasium in Bockenheim, with its scientific emphasis, will be a hub for academic excellence. The expansion includes state-of-the-art facilities such as an auditorium, science labs, a garage, and redesigned outdoor areas. Outdoor sports facilities, green classrooms, and two school gardens are also planned, ensuring a holistic learning environment.

A highlight of the project is the construction of a new six-field sports hall, scheduled for completion by June 1, 2026. This facility will provide ample opportunities for physical education and extracurricular activities.

As for the renovation of the sports field in buildings 1 to 6 of the Lateral Towers in Frankfurt, specific information about the completion and handover date is not currently available.

The ensemble will be accessible via a spacious foyer by summer 2026, creating modern conditions for the long-term development of the Frankfurt school landscape. The first graduating class is expected in 2033, marking the culmination of this ambitious project.

This expansion is a significant step forward in Frankfurt's commitment to providing world-class education facilities and fostering a new generation of innovative thinkers.
