Newcomers joining forces in Nordhorn city training program
The City of Nordhorn has warmly welcomed its new trainees, marking the start of an exciting and instructive apprenticeship journey. The induction days, planned and accompanied by the second-year trainees, aimed to facilitate the new colleagues' entry and provide initial insights into the structure of the city administration.
The induction process was packed with a variety of activities designed to foster camaraderie and knowledge sharing. The trainees got to know each other during team-building activities such as a joint bowling session, where exchange among each other was in the foreground, and a pizza break that brought everyone together over a shared meal.
A highlight of the induction days was the bike tour to external locations, which included a visit to the Nordhorn fire station. At the fire station, the trainees observed Nordhorn from above on a rescue platform of a fire truck with a lifting platform, offering a unique perspective of the city.
The trainees also had the opportunity to explore various departments of the administration during an office rally. This was followed by a pedal boat ride on the Vechtesee, providing a refreshing break from the indoor activities.
To prepare the trainees for their apprenticeship, additional training was provided. This included IT training to familiarise them with the city's digital systems and etiquette training to ensure they are well-equipped to navigate the professional environment.
The induction days concluded with a joint barbecue with the youth and trainee representation, further strengthening the bonds formed during the induction process. As the new trainees embark on their apprenticeship, the City of Nordhorn extends its best wishes for a successful start and an enriching learning experience.
