New Electric Mercedes E-Class Set for Early 2027 Launch

Get ready for an exciting addition to the electric vehicle market, as Mercedes-Benz unveils its new electric E-Class, scheduled for launch in the second half of 2027. The much-anticipated model will join the ranks of the Audi A6 (e-tron), BMW 5 Series/i5, Volvo S90 & V90/ES90, and will be a significant competitor in the luxury electric sedan segment.

While the exterior design of the 2027 electric E-Class remains under heavy camouflage, leaving its appearance a mystery for now, the interior is expected to feature a sleek, modern design that is characteristic of Mercedes-Benz.

The electric E-Class will be built on the optimised EVA2 platform, which has been tailored for 800-V technology. This upgrade is expected to bring improvements in battery size, efficiency, and charging speed. Intriguingly, the current Mercedes EQE may serve as a powertrain donor for the new model.

The electric E-Class will offer a range of powertrain options, similar to the current EQE lineup, which includes the EQE 300, EQE 350+, EQE 500 4Matic, and an AMG variant. However, it's worth noting that the AMG variant will not feature the 90 kWh battery capacity, unlike its counterparts.

One of the most promising features of the electric E-Class is its impressive range. All variants are expected to exceed 600 km, making long journeys more effortless and convenient than ever before.

Interestingly, the production of the electric E-Class will take place within Mercedes-Benz facilities, departing from the originally planned MB.EA-L platform. This decision has led to the launch being moved up by approximately one year, with the electric E-Class expected to hit the market earlier than initially planned.

As we eagerly await the release of spy shots showcasing the production-ready design of the electric E-Class, one thing is certain: Mercedes-Benz is poised to deliver another game-changing vehicle to the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
