In Vechta, a 21-year-old man was found driving a car on Immentun Street without a valid driver's license and under the influence of intoxicating substances. The incident occurred around 13:40. Around 16:50 on the same day, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Kolpingstraße and Bahnhofstraße in Vechta. A 22-year-old cyclist was slightly injured in the accident, which occurred when a 29-year-old driver from Vechta, while intending to turn into Bahnhofstraße, overlooked an oncoming, priority cyclist, leading to a collision. The cyclist was found to be under the influence of intoxicating substances, and a drug test was positive. In a separate incident on Thursday, 28th November 2024, a high-value Pedelec branded Riese and Müller was stolen from a bicycle rack at the Geschwister-Scholl-Oberschule in Driverstraße, Vechta, between 08:00 and 15:30. Corresponding criminal proceedings were initiated, and anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to contact the Vechta police.
In Steinfeld, on 30th November 2024, at 04:40, a car on Am Rathausplatz Street was stopped and controlled by the police. A drug test regarding THC was positive for the man from Vechta, who was found to be at the wheel of the car. The number plates of the car were removed on the spot, and it was established that there is no current road approval for the car driven by the man, and the number plates attached to the vehicle were not issued for the car and were equipped with false HU and registration plates. The registration certificate part I of the car was seized, and criminal proceedings were initiated.
