Ninety-one residences, inclusive of nurseries and commercial spaces, in Lichtenberg

In the heart of Neu-Hohenschoenhausen, construction is underway on an 11-story residential building, spanning approximately 9,000 square meters on Wiecker Straße. The urban development company, HOWOGE, is responsible for this exciting new project that will bring 91 housing units, two commercial spaces, and a kindergarten to the area.

The new residential quarter is being constructed to KfW-55 standard, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability. Rainwater will be retained on the site, with roofs being greened and equipped with photovoltaic systems. Tree planting is also planned, contributing to a greener environment.

Nearly half of the apartments in the new building will be barrier-free, promoting inclusivity. The apartments will feature underfloor heating and a balcony or terrace, providing residents with comfortable living spaces. Some of the apartments will be subsidized and have a guest WC in the larger units.

The project's outdoor spaces will be a highlight, offering a playground and movement area, a central meeting point, and a green area with existing planting that provides habitat for animals and plants. A new green corridor with additional play areas is also part of the project's concept, encouraging outdoor activities and fostering a sense of community.

Covered bike and cargo bike parking spaces with green roofs will be created, totaling 186 spaces. Only three car parking spaces are planned, one of which is barrier-free, with some parking spaces prepared for electric mobility.

The project is scheduled to be fully completed by the end of 2025, bringing a fresh, sustainable living environment to Neu-Hohenschoenhausen. The location of the site is ideal, being near the Wartenberg S-Bahn station, making it easily accessible for residents.

In addition to the residential units, the project includes a daycare center with ten places, providing valuable facilities for the local community. This new residential quarter promises to be a vibrant and sustainable addition to Neu-Hohenschoenhausen.
