Nobix prioritizes secure and self-governing cloud services on Ionos
In a move that strengthens the German cloud market, Ionos and Nobix have formed a strategic partnership. This collaboration is set to provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with secure, sovereign, and high-performance cloud environments.
The partnership has been tested successfully in two customer projects, one in the energy sector and one with a non-profit organisation. The demand for sovereign data centres is on the rise, and this partnership is poised to meet that demand.
Ionos, known for its data sovereignty advantages over other providers, has recently cooperated with Nextcloud to develop an European office suite. This alliance underscores Ionos' commitment to innovation and data protection.
Public authorities have shown faith in Ionos, with IT NRW, Baden-Württemberg (in partnership with Komm. One), and Northern Germany (with Dataport) choosing Ionos after a rigorous selection process. The German Federal Information Technology Center (ITZBund), serving about 200 federal authorities, has also selected Ionos as its cloud provider.
Nobix, a Managed Service Provider focused on the German SME sector, is collaborating with Ionos due to its approach to data protection, data sovereignty, and innovation. Nobix brings consulting, migration, and operational services to its customers, making the partnership a powerful combination.
Nobix praises Ionos for its personal support, both in commercial and technical matters, which they have not received from other providers of similar size. The Ionos cloud environment is developed in Germany and operated with green energy in numerous data centres across Germany and Europe. It is certified according to BSI C5, ISO 27001, and BSI IT baseline protection, ensuring 24/7 availability.
Cancom has also added Ionos to its portfolio, further expanding the reach of this partnership. Nobix is also collaborating with Microsoft in the cloud environment, but Ionos is closest to Microsoft and AWS in terms of size and technology among German providers.
Andreas Török, Co-CEO of Nobix, stated that they decided against having their own cloud due to the time and effort it would require, and that there are companies that can do it better. Gartner predicts that by 2029, half of all companies will have digital sovereignty strategies, up from less than ten percent currently. This partnership between Ionos and Nobix is a step towards realizing that prediction.
Nobix is offering secure and sovereign cloud solutions, along with local, nearby service, in partnership with Ionos. The partnership enabled the migration of parts of a company's internal collaboration platform to the Ionos Cloud, meeting strict regulatory requirements and additional requirements due to the potential military use of the processed data.
With this partnership, Ionos continues to solidify its position as a leading provider of secure, sovereign, and high-performance cloud environments in Europe. The company, with its system house of around 250 employees, is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for sovereign data centres and offer personalised support to its customers.
