FC Augsburg's Noah Kai Banks and Finn Dahmen Receive National Team Call-ups

In an exciting development for German and American football, two players from FC Augsburg have been nominated for their respective national teams.

Finn Dahmen, a German-English dual citizen, has been selected for the German national team for the first time. This nomination comes as a reward for his consistent performances with FC Augsburg, where he is a regular member of the professional squad. The coach, Julian Nagelsmann, has chosen Dahmen as a backup for Oliver Baumann and Alexander Nรผbel. Dahmen, a goalkeeper for FC Augsburg, expressed his delight about the call-up, stating that it is a great honour for him.

Dahmen's nomination is not the only first for the club. Noah Kai Banks, a central defender who has been with FC Augsburg since the U10s, has been chosen for the US men's national team for the first time. Banks' nomination is seen as a recognition of his consistent work at FC Augsburg, and it comes as a significant milestone in his career.

Benni Weber, the director of FC Augsburg, praised Banks' development, stating that it is a testament to the club's talent development programme. Weber expressed his belief that the nomination confirms that FC Augsburg is on the right track in nurturing young talent.

The matches for both teams have been scheduled. The German national team, led by Julian Nagelsmann, will face Slovakia and Northern Ireland in Bratislava and Cologne on September 4 and 7 respectively. The US team, on the other hand, will take on South Korea in Harrison/New Jersey on September 6 and Japan in Columbus/Ohio on September 10.

Dahmen's nomination comes after he won the European Championship with the German U21 team in 2021. This achievement further cements his place in the German footballing landscape. Meanwhile, Banks has made five appearances for the US U20 team and has been a regular in the FC Augsburg professional squad.

This is the first time a US national team member has been from FC Augsburg, making it a historic moment for the club. As both players prepare for their international debuts, the footballing world eagerly awaits their performances on the world stage.
