Notable individuals embark on the Global Sumud Fleeting to Gaza

The Global Sumud Flotilla, a mission aimed at challenging Israel's blockade on Gaza, has garnered significant support from a diverse group of high-profile individuals and organisations.

U.N. Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has confirmed the flotilla's compliance with international law and urged U.N. member states to ensure its protection. This endorsement comes as a strong backing for the flotilla's mission.

Among the notable figures joining the Global Sumud Flotilla is Mandla Mandela, the grandson of the late South African leader Nelson Mandela. Mandla's participation underscores the global solidarity for the cause.

A large delegation from Türkiye, comprising parliamentarians, activists, journalists, artists, and political party representatives, is also participating in the flotilla. This delegation includes Sema Silkin Un from the Gelecek Party, Mehmet Atmaca and Necmettin Caliskan from the Saadet Party, and Faruk Dinc from the Huda Party.

European elected officials, such as La France Insoumise MEP Emma Fourreau, Spanish actress Ester Exposito, and former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau, have also lent their support to the flotilla.

Notable personalities from the world of entertainment have also joined the cause. Liam Cunningham, known for his role in "Game of Thrones," has delivered a speech condemning global indifference and the normalization of violence against children in Gaza. Susan Sarandon, an American actress known for her pro-Palestinian stance, has expressed her solidarity, stating, "You don't have to be Palestinian to care about what's happening in Gaza. I stand with Palestine. No one is free until everyone is free."

Adele Haenel, a French actress, has returned to public life after stepping away from cinema for political reasons, to join the Global Sumud Flotilla. Spanish actor Eduardo Fernandez is another notable figure participating in the flotilla.

A high-profile personality serving as coordinator on one of the largest ships of the flotilla is Bruno Gilga, a member of the USP union and chairman of MRT (Brazil).

Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has also joined the Global Sumud Flotilla, adding her voice to the chorus of support for the mission.

The Global Sumud Flotilla's primary objective is to challenge Israel's blockade on Gaza, a move that is gaining momentum with the support of these influential figures. Their participation underscores the global call for action and the growing solidarity with the people of Gaza.
