NVIDIA App Upgrades with New GeForce Game Ready Driver, Introducing Global DLSS Overrides and Additional Features

In a move to enhance the gaming experience for its users, NVIDIA has released the new GeForce Game Ready 581.08 WHQL driver and an update for the NVIDIA app. Here's a breakdown of the key changes and improvements.

The new driver, now available for download from the Drivers tab of the NVIDIA app or GeForce.com, addresses previously reported issues and offers a host of new features. A list of fixes for these issues can be found online for users' convenience.

One of the most anticipated additions is the availability of NVIDIA Smooth Motion for GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs. This feature, designed to improve the smoothness of gameplay, is now accessible for these high-end GPUs.

The NVIDIA app update, developed by the NVIDIA software team under the GeForce division, brings several new functionalities. These include global DLSS overrides, support for NVIDIA Smooth Motion on RTX 40 series GPUs, and enhancements from the NVIDIA Control Panel, such as the top requested 3D settings.

For gamers, the new driver and app update offer more control over DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). The status of DLSS overrides can now be seen in-game on the Alt+R statistics overlay, and users can activate DLSS overrides for every compatible game on their system at once with the global toggle.

The NVIDIA app update also features a streamlined NVIDIA Surround setup screen, making multi-monitor setups easier to manage.

For those who prefer to try out the latest features before they're officially released, a new NVIDIA app beta update is available as of August 19th, 9am PT. This can be downloaded by opting into beta and experimental feature Early Access in Settings > About.

Lastly, Project G-Assist, a feature designed to optimise game settings for GeForce RTX GPUs with 6GB or more of VRAM, is now available for all eligible GPUs, including laptops.

As with any new update, users are encouraged to report any technical issues they encounter with the new Game Ready drivers on the GeForce.com Driver Feedback Forum. Happy gaming!
