Off-Strip eatery in Las Vegas momentarily shutters; iconic casino faces temporary closure as well
Renovation Time for Battista's Hole in the Wall in Las Vegas
It's business as usual (kinda), but not quite, for Battista's Hole in the Wall. The famed Italian eatery, nestled just east of the Strip on Flamingo Road, is taking a month-long hiatus. Reservations are back on the menu starting June 23, only this time, it's via Open Table.
Why the break? Owner Randy Barkin has been keeping an eye on the sky since he took the reins a couple of years ago. Turns out, the building, dating back to the '60s, wasn't too keen on downpours.
"We'd have leaks when it rained," Barkin explains, "So we decided to do a total makeover." That means a brand-new roof and all-new air conditioning units to give the establishment a facelift and improve comfort for diners. He also owns Stage Door Casino next door and the rest of the strip mall.
Battista's hole-in-the-wall reputation (pun intended) should remain intact once they reopen. Until then, Bon Appétit, Vegas-style!
