Traffic Accident on A1 Motorway Near Emstek Causes Delays and Damage

In a concerning incident on September 5, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on the A1 motorway near Emstek at around 12:45 PM. The collision involved a car driven by a 67-year-old from Gütersloh and an articulated lorry, the driver of which was from the district of Osnabrück.

The accident resulted in a four-kilometer tailback on the motorway and caused a total material damage of 9,000 EUR. Fortunately, the driver of the car escaped unharmed, but the car's 63-year-old passenger sustained slight injuries. A rescue helicopter was called but was not needed.

The accident occurred in the vicinity of an existing construction site. Two ambulances were deployed at the scene of the accident to tend to the injured passenger.
