In the early hours of Sunday, August 3, law enforcement officials intervened to put an end to an unlicensed rave that was taking place at the Cefn Croes wind farm in Myherin forest, near Devil's Bridge. The event, organised by local youths without official permission, attracted a substantial gathering of individuals.

Authorities responded promptly to reports of the unlawful event, with Ch Insp Thomas initiating a thorough investigation into any illegal activities that emerged from the gathering. The police were monitoring the remaining individuals and vehicles, and most attendees had departed the area by late afternoon, but a limited number of individuals and vehicles remained.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has emphasised that their forests and countryside are for everyone to enjoy, but unlawful events such as this can negatively impact these spaces. The organisation warned that unlawful events can disrupt ecosystems, disturb wildlife, and create unsafe circumstances for visitors. They urge the public to refrain from entering the affected area during the ongoing response efforts and advise residents to steer clear of the site.

NRW is collaborating with the police regarding the illegal rave at the Cefn Croes wind farm. Ch Insp Steve Thomas, a spokesperson for the police, noted potential hazards associated with unlicensed musical gatherings, stating his commitment to ensuring community safety.

NRW has also highlighted that unlicensed musical gatherings pose safety risks. Such events can lead to significant disturbances, and it is crucial for the public to respect the rules and regulations governing public spaces to ensure everyone's safety and the preservation of the environment.

As the investigation continues, the affected area remains under police surveillance. Officers arrived at the unauthorized rave while it was in progress, and Ch Insp Thomas has expressed his commitment to bringing those responsible to justice. The public is reminded to report any suspicions of illegal activities to the authorities to maintain the safety and integrity of public spaces.
