The Tinubu administration, now in its first year, has made significant strides in various sectors, from energy and transport to education, agriculture, and industry.

In the realm of education, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has been a beacon of hope for many families. Processing over 9,000 applications daily, the fund has disbursed over N104 billion to no fewer than 600,000 students in federal tertiary institutions. This has eased the financial burden on many families and provided opportunities for the youth.

Infrastructure development is another area where the administration has shown its commitment. Landmark projects, such as the 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, projected at $11 billion, and other major road projects like the 1,000km Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, are underway. Work on the first 47.47km segment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is already underway, backed by $747 million in funding.

The Tinubu administration is also driving the development of new federal medical centres for affordable access to healthcare. These centres aim to provide quality healthcare services to all Nigerians, regardless of their location or financial status.

In the agricultural sector, reforms and the introduction of compressed natural gas (CNG) as an affordable transport fuel are expected to reduce food and transportation costs. These measures are part of the administration's broader strategy to improve the economy and living standards for all Nigerians.

Stabilisation of electricity supply across the board has been achieved, a significant step towards improving the business environment and quality of life for citizens. The national health insurance scheme has also been expanded to include children, ensuring more Nigerians have access to healthcare.

Improvements have been made in passport processing, making it more efficient and less cumbersome for citizens who need to travel. The government has also launched construction of 10,000 affordable housing units, addressing a long-standing need in the housing sector.

The Tinubu administration's efforts have not gone unnoticed. Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has commended President Tinubu for his economic policies. Speaking after a courtesy visit to President Tinubu in Abuja, Okonjo-Iweala praised the administration's progress and called it a validation of Tinubu's progressive governance.

The proposed tax reform bill aims to ease burdens on low and middle-income earners by eliminating regressive levies, simplifying tax collection, and focusing more on high-income sectors and large corporations. This move is expected to stimulate economic growth and improve the living standards of all Nigerians.

With the services sector surging by over 5% and Nigeria's GDP growing by 3.13% in the first quarter of 2025, the Tinubu administration is on track to achieve its target of 7% annual growth by 2027 and a quadrupling of the economy by 2030. These are promising signs for the future of Nigeria under the Tinubu administration.
