On motorway 6, eight individuals suffer injuries in a traffic mishap
In an unfortunate incident, an accident occurred on the A6 highway in the Rhein-Neckar district in the early evening. The accident, which caused damage to the guardrail, occurred at a stretch that was partially closed at Sankt Leon-Rot.
According to the police spokesperson, the accident was caused by the negligence of a 37-year-old driver who, it appears, failed to heed multiple warning signs at a construction site. The driver suddenly steered to the right and collided with a car driven by a 41-year-old woman. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
Eight people were lightly injured in the accident, among them three children aged eight, ten, and twelve. The injured parties were transported to hospitals for treatment. The identity of the 37-year-old driver involved in the accident remains undisclosed at this time.
Despite the accident, traffic was able to bypass the accident area, preventing major traffic disruptions. The right lane and the hard shoulder were closed due to the accident, but the police spokesperson confirmed that there were no significant traffic disruptions as a result.
The accident caused damage to the guardrail, but thankfully, no fatalities were reported. The authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the exact cause and any potential charges against the driver.
