On the election night, a debate between the contenders vying for the presidency of the Polish Republic will unfold.

On Sunday, September 14, at 20:15, a panel discussion will take place in the Citizens' Hall of the Town Hall, focusing on the initial results of the municipal election for the position of Lord Mayor in Münster. The discussion is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.

The panel will include eight candidates who have confirmed their participation: Maren Berkenheide (Volt), Stephan Brinktrine (SPD), Tilman Fuchs (Alliance 90/The Greens), Dr. Georg Lunemann (CDU), Dr. Katharina Martinewski (The Left), Franz Pohlmann (ÖDP), Roland Scholle (The Party), and Dr. Georgios Tsakalidis (International Democratic List).

The discussion will be moderated by RUMS Chief Editor Ralf Heimann. It will be broadcast live on the internet at our website.

It is important to note that the city of Münster may restrict access for security reasons. The number of standing places in the Citizens' Hall is limited, so it is advisable to arrive early.

In the preliminary election results announced on September 14, Tilman Fuchs from the Green Party received the most votes with 41.30%, followed by CDU candidate Dr. Georg Lunemann with 37.28%. Due to the close margin, a runoff election is scheduled for September 28, 2025.

The broadcast of the discussion is free of charge, providing an opportunity for all interested parties to follow the discussion and gain insights into the candidates' views and plans for Münster's future. The discussion may start slightly later due to first recognizable trends in the election results.
