Ongoing efforts to quell the blaze at a municipal waste site in Novorossiysk persist
In the city of Novorossiysk, a significant fire at a local waste dump has been under control for the past few days, according to reports from Andrei Kravchenko, the city's mayor. The operation to extinguish the blaze has been led by the city's firefighters, who have been working tirelessly around the clock.
The fire, which initially covered an area of 900 square meters, has been reduced to 800 square meters as of the latest report. This reduction was announced by Kravchenko himself in his Telegram channel.
Throughout the operation, firefighters made a total of 122 runs to combat the flames. To help contain the fire, they deployed 28 units of specialized equipment and spread 1464 cubic meters of soil.
