In the heart of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, a towering crane stands sentinel over the Greizer Quarter, a once vibrant residential area that now resembles a bustling construction site.

The Left faction of Tempelhof-Schöneberg has confirmed that the building in the area is safe, according to a recent static report. However, this assurance has done little to alleviate the concerns of tenants who have been living amidst the construction for over a year.

Tenants have reported constant noise pollution and unclear communication from the construction operators. The area is littered with construction equipment, materials, and sand piles, making it a far cry from the peaceful neighbourhood it once was.

The disruption has not been limited to the physical realm. Some tenants have had difficulty accessing their apartments, while others have been forced to temporarily move to temporary accommodations.

The district office of Tempelhof-Schöneberg has received complaints about cracks and defects in building supervision at the Greizer Quarter. Despite the modernised entranceways, bike racks, and greened front gardens, the area still appears as a large construction site.

The playground in the Greizer Quarter remains unfinished, adding to the sense of abandonment felt by many tenants. The lack of communication and insufficient support from the authorities has only exacerbated these feelings.

Despite multiple inspections, no reason for official intervention has been found. However, the identity of the newly appointed construction operator for the fourth construction phase of the modernization of the Marienfelder Greizer Viertel residential buildings remains a mystery.

As the construction continues, the residents of the Greizer Quarter can only hope for clearer communication, swifter action, and a return to normal life in their neighbourhood.
