Ongoing Surveillance in City Core: Over 200 Individuals Scrutinized

In a series of operations over the past week, Dortmund and Lünen authorities have taken action against illegal activities in their cities.

The operations, supported by forces of the PK Focus, began on Friday, May 16th, with the enforcement of the "Focus Presence Concept" in Dortmund's city and northern city center. During this operation, an unauthorized quantity of cannabis was found and seized from a juvenile repeat offender. No violations of the knife-carrying ban were detected.

Between May 16th and 21st, forces of the PK Focus checked a total of 205 people and 63 vehicles. Various personal checks were carried out in the area of the Nordmarkt on Monday, and a violation of a spatial restriction was detected during a large-scale control near the northern exit of Dortmund Central Station on May 19th.

On Tuesday, May 20th, a group of people were found dealing with intoxicants at the Helmholtz Gymnasium. Intoxicants and a low three-digit cash amount were secured from the group.

During a traffic control on Monday, a person without a valid driver's license was detected. Corresponding criminal proceedings have been initiated following this detection.

In a separate operation in Lünen on Wednesday, May 21st, four men were arrested for dealing, among other things, with not insignificant amounts of amphetamine. No further details about who is behind the activities related to the distribution of amphetamines in Dortmund since May 21, 2021, have been provided.

In total, fifteen cases led to criminal charges during these checks. Cash and intoxicants were secured during the search of an apartment, but the identity of those behind the activities remains unknown.

The Dortmund Police have confirmed that the regular checks continue in their efforts to maintain public safety and order.
